On our latest fundraising challenge, we've managed to raise £1262 which is £265 above our target! the amount will be spent on Mental Health Awareness training for staff members and volunteers.
There are still ways for you to get involved however.
Please consider helping our work with the donation of:
If you'd like to sponsor an hour of befriending. Our volunteers donate an hour of the week for visiting an older person in Glasgow. An hour a week can be lifechanging for both befriendees and volunteers, or even lifesaving. We have had instances where serious harm to the befriendee has been spotted and reported by the volunteer, and effective intervention could be arranged by the relevant authority.
If you or your company'd like to sponsor a group befriending event. Our 'Cup of Friendship' events are run in 3 different areas of Glasgow, and provide our friends with an opportunity to get out of the apartment. These events are also specifically targeting those who are not involved in any other activities and are therefore experiencing loneliness and isolation. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to know more about sponsorship.
Group befrienders: We need volunteers for our Cup of Friendship events. This means chatting with our lovely attendees, making a cup of tea etc. but if you have some extra skills that you can bring to organise a wee activity at the event (e.g drumming, chair exercises, knitting etc.) that would also be welcome! The commitment is 2-3 hours one afternoon a month. Please contact Marketa (email@example.com) if you're interested.
Other: We are always happy to work with you to find you volunteering opportunities that are tailored to your skills and availability. Get in touch to learn more!
