Befriending

As a Befriender you will be visiting an older person at their home for one hour a week at agreed times. During these weekly visits, you will chat and be a listening ear for your befriendee, providing companionship and improving their confidence and independence.

This role is an opportunity for volunteers to work collaboratively with our Volunteer Coordinators, developing a peer support group programme for our telephone befriending volunteers. Peer supporters will provide regular support to Befriending volunteers, by telephone or online, at a mutually agreed time.
